There are a number of popular conveyor designs that Flat-Flex® belts fit. We have divided these into "general best to use" and "use specific applications". The most commonly used setups are shown below and include the simple tape setup; construction with S-drive; possible construction with S-drive; the deliverer; the infeed guide, double drive, central drive and bidirectional drive.
Basically, the less complicated the belt cycle, the longer the life of the belt. As such, the single drive belt would be preferable, provided that product diversion over the sprocket edges is not objectionable. All of these facilities have been applied in hundreds of designs. But that doesn't mean that the lifespan of the belts is just as long.
You and your customer ultimately decide which belt is most suitable for your application. You must consider all factors and trade-offs, and make your own decisions based on design desire and design limitations.
